Role
UX Designer
This non-profit does exceptional work in its community, providing valuable services and support to those in need. However, their website, which was the primary hub for information and scheduling, was challenging to navigate due to poor organization. The redesign focused on improving the website's structure and design to create a more intuitive and user-friendly experience.
As the lead designer, I guided our team of three designers through the entire redesign process. We began by developing a user persona, followed by the creation of an affinity diagram and user journey map. These tools helped us clearly define the needs and pain points of the website’s primary users.
With these insights in hand, we moved into the design phase, where we sketched and created low-fidelity prototypes. These initial designs were further refined into a comprehensive style guide, which helped maintain consistency across the site’s visuals.
Next, we focused on restructuring the site’s information architecture to improve the flow and navigation. After conducting a content inventory and analyzing the current site’s hierarchy, we reorganized the structure to create a more streamlined and user-friendly navigation system.
We then conducted user testing to gather feedback, which led to several iterations. The final high-fidelity prototype addressed both user needs and the non-profit's goals, while maintaining alignment with their branding and mission. The result was a website that significantly enhanced the user experience, making it easier for visitors to access critical information and engage with the organization’s services.
